Subscribing to Channels (RSS)

Note: The Pando Channels Directory is no longer being updated. The information here is for legacy purposes only.

Like new things? Subscribe to any RSS feed that posts .pando files and see them updated in your Received list. Pando checks for updates every hour (or each time you start Pando).

Channel settings

  1. Browse the Pando Channel Directory to find one (or more!) Channels you might like. (A link is also provided if you select the +channels button).
  2. When you find one you want to add, click the Subscribe with Pando button, which will open the Add Channels window.
  3. Channel settings

  4. Pando is set to download the Channels’ new Packages onto your computer automatically. If you'd rather Pando just show you the available files in your Channels tab so you can choose which ones to download, uncheck the box next to "Auto-download."
  5. By default, Pando makes way for new Packages by automatically deleting old ones. You can decide how many old Packages to keep, or uncheck the box next to "Auto-delete" to disable this feature( More info on this stuff here!)
  6. Ready? Click subscribe*.

* If you haven’t filled out your profile yet (see Pando Preferences), you’ll be asked for some demographic information (gender, country, etc.—you know the drill). You’ll only have to do this once.

Channel tab

Another way:
If you have a specific Channel you want to add, you can:

  1. Select Preferences from the Pando menu.
  2. Select Channels tab.
  3. Click Add Channels in the upper right part of the window.
  4. In the window that opens, enter the URL of a Channel in the text box (note: you can usually ctrl-click an RSS icon on a site, choose “Copy Link Location,” then paste the link into the text box). Click the Test button to make sure the feed will work. If the link is a valid link but doesn’t currently have any .pando files, you can still subscribe to it and Pando will check it regularly for .pando files.
  5. Then pick up with step 3 above.

How to unsubscribe:

  1. Select Preferences from the Pando menu.
  2. Select the Channels tab.
  3. Find the unwanted Channel in the list. Double-click on it. Uncheck the "Subscribe to this channel" box to stop Pando from checking for new files. The Channel will remain in this list. Or, press Delete key to stop Pando from checking for new files and remove the Channel from the list.
